Who is this module for?
This online module is designed for registered health professionals who are required to assess and/or manage the care of patients with an acute oncology indication. This includes staff working in emergency services, acute medicine and community services.

- Drivers for Acute Oncology
- Principles of cancer and its treatment
- Suspected cancer pathways
- Symptom assessment and management
- Disease and treatment-related acute oncology indications
- Ethical and legal issues in Acute Oncology.
Online learning
Working with leading clinicians and researchers, this module provides an engaging and clinically relevant curriculum.
The module is delivered online and is hosted on the Guy's Cancer Academy learning platform, which can be accessed at any time and on any device.

- Live Zoom classes and tutorials
- Feedback and support from experienced clinicians
Module structure
This module equips you with important knowledge and skills alongside academic certification.
Online learning
Our online platform houses 150 hours of learning to complete flexibly over 12 weeks. Several optional live webinars are held at times which work best for each cohort.
We provide feedback throughout these 12 weeks to support your progression.
Accreditation
On completion of the online learning, you can undertake a KCL module (a further 150 study hours) to receive 30 academic credits at either Level 6 or 7.

Module fees
The fees for this module are £1,200.
South-East London Cancer Alliance (SELCA) staff receive a £200 discount.
The module fees include all required materials and King’s College London accreditation.
Study hours
The required study time to complete the online module is 150 hours (i.e. 1.5 days per week for 12 weeks). A further 150 hours are required to complete the King’s College London academic assignment and receive credits.
All learning for the online module can be completed at times which suit you over 12 weeks. Several optional live webinars are held at times which work best for each cohort.
